As a US Fulbright Scholar, hosted by the Center for Strategic Studies at the University of Jordan, I have to acknowledge that my experience for the last three month have been amazing. I have been warmly welcomed and sincerely supported by the Director of CSS and staff. What I like the most is the professional and dedicated research work that the center has been conducting. I had the chance to attend some of their lectures, to discuss various topics with their experts, and to share my own work with the university community. In all situations, I have learned and exchanged innovative and much needed topics.
As a lecturer and researcher who has worked at different campuses: the University of CA-Irvine, Chapman University, American University of Beirut, and Lebanese American University, I was worried that in Jordan I would miss green and beautiful campuses. I am for sure enjoying the UJ campus, its Pine Tree forests, and the serene view from my office at CSS. Commuting from the Syrian refugees’ camps and urban location to CSS UJ is a breath of fresh air that I thank God for. I also hope and pray that my research would add valuable knowledge on what is best for human development among refugees.
I am looking forward for more good things during the remaining time of my stay.
