​5th IWA International Symposium on Water and Waste Water Technologies in Ancient Civilizations Held

 
 
The event, which brought together scholars, historians, archeologists and engineers from 23 countries, was organized by the Water, Energy and Environment Center at the University of Jordan (UJ) in partnership with the International Water Association (IWA).
 
The event aimed at this edition of the symposium to discuss topics related to water heritage and history, historical development of water technologies, ancient water and sanitation systems, old influence in modern water and wastewater technologies, and the juridical, institutional and social evolution of water and wastewater systems.
 
 
 
The event featured two Keynotes Speeches; the first took place in the first session and was conducted by Dr. Larry Mays from USA, addressing Nabatean and Roman water technologies in Jordan, whereas the second Keynote speech was delivered in the 5th session by Dr. Andreas Angelakis from Greece on the evolution of water reuse.
 
This symposium follows 4 successful IWA International Symposiums and aims to promote interactions, motivate discussions and encourage collaboration among the global community on water resources.
