UJ Signs Agreement with University of Gothenburg

​​In presence of the Swedish Ambassador in Amman Erik Ullenhag, the University of Jordan (UJ) on Sunday, November 17, signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the University of Gothenburg to establish academic cooperation in medical education.
 
The MoU was signed on behalf of UJ by the Dean of the School of Medicine Prof. Islam Massad and on behalf of the University of Gothenburg by the Chair of the Department of Molecular and Clinical Medicine at Institute of Medicine of Sahlgrenska Academy Prof. Jan Boren, and Director of the Institute of Community Medicine and Global Health at the Institute, Prof. Max Petzold.
 

The signing ceremony was attended by Project Officer to the Erasmus Plus Office in Amman, Dr. Reem Al-Khadr, Director of the International Affairs Unit at the University Dr. Hadeel Al-Yassin and the Director of the Media and Public Relations Department Dr. Mageda Omar.
 
Commending the step, UJ President Prof. Abdull Karim Al Qudah said the MoU aims to lay the foundations for a strong and long-term partnership between the two universities in the field of medical research, exchange of knowledge, as well as training of students and faculty at both universities.

 

In turn, Massad stressed the importance of cooperation with this University of Gothenburg, as one renowned Swedish universities and known for its excellence in teaching medicine, adding that it embraces the Salgranska Hospital, which is founded in 1772 and one of the largest hospitals in Northern Europe.
