UJ Student and Olympic medalist Ahmad Abughaush has won gold for Jordan in the G2 Egyptian International Taekwondo Championship in Alexandria.
Abughaush won the 74 kg category after beating Egypt's Karim Khairi 26-6, then Kazakhstan's Khairat Sarimasakov 12-8 in the semi-finals.
He beat Sido Fofana 10-5 in the semi-final, before winning the gold medal after Italy's fighter Claudio Treviso withdrew from the Championship's final round.
The Championship took place on 24 and 25 February at the Olympic Club in Alexandria with the participation of 282 players representing 39 countries.
Abughaush also won best men's player award of the tournament.
