Chinese Spring Festival Held at UJ


The University of Jordan (UJ) on Thursday, February 15, hosted the Chinese Spring Festival held on the occasion of the Chinese New Year, the Year of the Dog according to Chinese zodiac.
 
The festival, which was organized in cooperation between the Chinese embassy in Amman and the School of Foreign Languages, was attended by UJ President Prof. Azmi Mahafzah and the Chinese Ambassador to Jordan Pan Weifang.

The event provided an opportunity for students to get acquainted with China’s culture, habits and traditions over various historical eras.
 
Chinese Ambassador Pan Weifang expressed happiness for holding the event at UJ and its continuous support by teaching the Chinese language and raising awareness about the culture and traditions of China.
 
Chinese New Year or 'Spring Festival' is the most important holiday and festival in China. In 2018, Chinese New Year began on February 16, marking the beginning of the Year of the Dog.
