Abuhammad Awarded L'Oréal-UNESCO for Women in Science International Rising Talents

 
University of Jordan (UJ) Professor Areej Abuhammad has been honored and recognized for the second time by the L’Oréal-UNESCO for Women in Science initiative.
 
Abuhammad, an Associate Professor at the Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences of the School of Pharmacy, was recently awarded the L’Oréal-UNESCO For Women in Science International Rising Talents.
 
Abuhammad, who is one of the winners of the 2017 UNESCO- L’Oréal Levant & Egypt Fellowships for Women in Science,  received the award during a ceremony held on the twenty-second of March at the headquarters of UNESCO in Paris.
 
The award is presented to fifteen women from around the world who are passionate about science and eager to "pursue their scientific careers," as the L'Oreal website states.
 
The L’Oréal-UNESCO International Rising Talent program is dedicated to both honoring distinguished women scientists as well as supporting promising young women researchers throughout their careers.
