The contest is held annually at the Faculty of Al Alsun at Ain Shams University and is considered a unique cultural and teaching event for Korean language students in the Middle East and Africa to display their language skills and share their Korean language learning experience.

The contest saw the participation of around 17 Korean language students from the hosting faculty and the Korean Cultural Center in Egypt, as well as three students from the UAE, Jordan and Morocco.

"The contest widened my cultural horizons" Qtitat said. She stated that the contest has taught her a lot, including how to challenge herself to reach the goal.

At the end of the competition, the Korean ambassador to Egypt Yoon Yeocheol distributed certificates of recognition and souvenirs to the winners.

On a similar note, UJ students claimed the top three spots at the 17th "Chinese-Bridge" Chinese Proficiency Competition for Foreign College Students in Jordan which was held at Philadelphia University in Amman on May 9th.
