According to the Shanghai Ranking, the University of Jordan (UJ) attained a high rating among the best ranking universities in two academic subjects.
At the 2018 Shanghai Ranking's Global Ranking of Academic Subjects, which is considered one of the most important and impactful rankings in the world, the University excelled in the Dentistry and Nursing disciplines.
The results showed that the University is amongst the world's top 200 universities in Nursing with a position in the 151-200 category, and among the best 300 universities in Dentistry, holding a position in the 201-300 category.
The Accreditation and Quality Assurance Center at the University explained that this ranking is based on five criteria: amount of published papers in Web of Science and InCites, amount of papers published in the most influential journals pertaining to the major, ratio of citation of papers published by an institution in a subject to the average citations of papers in the same category, amount of international collaboration in the field of research with scholars from international universities in the same subject, and lastly, the number of international awards attained by an academic scholar in the ranked subject.
It's worth noting that the Nursing program offered by the School of Nursing is accredited by the Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN), whereas the School of Dentistry is recognized by the Association of Dental Education in Europe since 2014.
