The University of Jordan (UJ) has been ranked top university in Jordan by the 'TRANSPARENT RANKING: Top Universities by Google Scholar Citations'.
According to the Ranking's Seventh edition (January 2019), UJ has been ranked 813th out of 4982 listed universities, and 10th in the Arab world from amongst 327 Arab universities included in the ranking.
Google Scholar Citations assesses over 5000 official profiles of universities worldwide.
This ranking is based on the number of citations of scientific research produced by the scientists of an institution.
This ranking is a project of the Cybermetrics Lab, a research group that belongs to the Spanish National Research Council (CSIC).
In the methodology, only institutional profiles are chosen, data from the top 10 public profiles of each university are collected and the head of the list is excluded for improving representativeness. The figures are valid only at the time of collection.
