An International Conference titled "Non-State Actors and the Security of the Euro-Mediterranean Area Region" convened at the University of Jordan on Wednesday, January 30th, with the participation of academics, politicians and experts from Russia, Germany, France, Italy, Spain, Turkey and Jordan.

The conference was organized by Center for Strategic Studies (CSS) at UJ in collaboration with Bowers (Peace, War and the World in the European Security Challenges) Project, within the Jean Monnet Network and with the support of Erasmus Plus Programme of the European Union.

The purpose of the conference was to create an academic and public dialogue on emerging security issues, future security scenarios in the Euro-Mediterranean region, and on policies and cross-border security cooperation, as well as on the impact of forced migration on Euro-Mediterranean security.

The first session of the conference discussed topics concerned with transitional security cooperation in the Euro-Mediterranean region, whereas the second session tackled issues related to unknown threats and security risks in Russia, Europe, and the MENA countries.
