UJ Student Takes Parts in Creating a Global Initiative

The University of Jordan (UJ) student Rakan Nawaf Al-Shobaki took part in creating a global initiative dubbed the 'One World Marathon' along with other partners from other countries.

The One World Marathon is an international marathon event that was proposed by the One World Strong Foundation, where teams of participants from around the world will combine their efforts to attain 42.195 km over four days.

OWM is scheduled to start on April 12th with the RunJordan Dead Sea Ultra Marathon events, and will end when the Boston Marathon’s final runner crosses the finish line on April 15th.

The event is designed to unite people regardless of borders, ethnic backgrounds, religions, race or politics. It mainly aims at connecting people across borders and diverse backgrounds, contradicting racism, bigotry, violent extremist and terrorist rhetoric.

With the support of the Innovation and Entrepreneurship Center at the University, Al-Shobaki participated in the launching ceremony of the event which took place at the British Parliament recently.
