On the occasion of the Chinese New Year, the School of Foreign Languages at the University of Jordan (UJ) organized in cooperation with the Chinese embassy an exhibit features works of Chinese calligraphy.
The exhibition showcased a collection of Chinese calligraphy highlighting famous philosophical and poetic quotations. It also showcased student paintings inspired by the university campus.
Chinese calligraphy is a formal artistic writing of the Chinese characters. It is considered the most important ancient Chinese art along with painting.
The Chinese New Year was on Feb. 5 this year, and denoted the meanings of love, goodness, happiness and hope.
