Dr. Safa' Abu Gharbiah is a distinguished alumna of the University of Jordan with more than 30 years of extensive experience in the pharmaceutical industry, spanning research and development, quality assurance, and regulatory affairs.She earned her Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy from the University of Jordan, followed by a Master's degree in Drug Analysis from Monastir University in Tunisia, and a PhD in Pharmaceutical Sciences from the University of Lille in France.
Throughout her career, she has held several senior leadership positions in Jordan and Tunisia, and has played a key role in the development and registration of generic pharmaceutical products for global markets, including the United States, Europe, and the MENA region.
Dr. Safa' currently heads Regulatory Affairs for the MENA region at Hikma Pharmaceuticals, where she leads the development of regulatory strategies and oversees their implementation across more than 16 countries. In this role, she works closely with health authorities to support the advancement and harmonization of the regulatory environment across the region.
In addition to her professional role, she is an active member of the Jordanian Association of Pharmacists (JAP), serving on the Registration Committee. Abu Gharbiah also delivers lectures at several Jordanian universities on regulatory affairs and various pharmaceutical industry topics.
In recognition of her outstanding contributions to the development of the pharmaceutical industry in Jordan, she received an appreciation and recognition award from the association in 2019. Dr. Safa' is also an active member of the scientific committee of the Arab Union for Pharmaceutical Manufacturers (AUPAM).
