Dr. Ismail Abu Amoud, an Associate Professor at School of Archeology and Tourism, at the University of Jordan (UJ), was awarded the International Distinguished Alumni Award for 2019 from New Mexico State University, USA.
The award honors graduates who have accomplished outstanding achievements in their respective ventures and have brought recognition and distinction to their college.
Abu Amoud received a letter from the New Mexico State University, from which he earned a PhD in 2011, to inform him officially of receiving the award for the year 2019, in recognition of his extensive and widespread efforts after graduation and return to Jordan.
Abu Amoud has contributed to designing study programs for Prince El-Hassan bin Talal Faculty for Arid Lands at the Hashemite University and developing the curricula for a number of programs and at UJ. He also contributed to attracting different types of funding to the School of Archeology and Tourism aimed at developing facilities and laboratories at the school.
The letter was delivered by Abu Amoud by the Dean of the College of Agricultural, Consumer, and Environmental Sciences at New Mexico State University, Dr. Rolando Flores.
