The Engineering Accreditation
Commission (EAC) and the Applied and Natural Sciences Commission (ANSAC) of the
Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology (ABET) and the University of
Jordan (UJ) held a series of joint virtual meetings over 3 days from 16 - 18
November, 2021.
The meetings included a
comprehensive review of procedures related to accreditation with the
university's higher management, Engineering and Science faculties,
Accreditation and Quality Assurance Center, Admission and Registration Unit,
and Deanship of Student Affairs.
The committees also met with the
President of the university, Vice President for Scientific Schools, deans of
the schools of science and engineering and their deputies and assistants,
Director of the Accreditation and Quality Assurance Center, Registrar General,
the heads of departments, faculty and administrative staff, laboratory
supervisors and student representatives at different levels.
The evaluations included two issues:
renewal of the international accreditation for seven programs at the School of
Engineering for another six years (chemical engineering, electrical
engineering, mechanical engineering, civil engineering, industrial engineering,
computer engineering and mechatronics engineering), and obtaining accreditation
for the Mathematics program at the School of Science as per the other four
programs (Physics, Environmental and Applied Geology, Chemistry, and
Biology).
