A student programming team representing the University of Jordan (UJ) has won the silver medal in the 2024 ICPC Africa & Arab Collegiate Programming Championship held in Luxor, Egypt, from 7–8 December 2024, featuring over 150 teams from universities across the Arab and African countries.
The students' participation was sponsored by the Innovation and Entrepreneurship Center, the Deanship of Student Affairs, and the King Abdullah II School for Information Technology, which provided the team with training and support.
This team, led and trained by Dr. Abdulbaset Assaf, Assistant Dean for Laboratories and Student Affairs at the School, includes:

The Africa and Arab Collegiate Programming Championship is a qualifying round for the International Collegiate Programming Contest (ICPC) and the winners qualify to the ICPC World Finals. Operating since 1997, it is one of the oldest and most prestigious competitions on problem-solving and programming in the African & Arab countries.
It's worth noting that this marks the third time a team from the university has qualified for the International Collegiate Programming Contest (ICPC).
