The University of Jordan (UJ) and Joramco Academy, the educational arm of Joramco, on Wednesday, February 5, signed a strategic partnership agreement to launch the first specialized Bachelor's degree in Aeronautical Engineering and Commercial Aircraft Maintenance.
UJ President Prof. Nathir Obaidat and Joramco CEO Fraser Currie signed the agreement, which represents an important step in strengthening Jordan's aviation sector and highlights the need for collaboration between academic institutions and industry to meet the growing demand for skilled professionals.
The five-year program combines academic study with practical training. Students will complete three years of coursework at the university, followed by two years of hands-on experience at Joramco's hangars, where they will receive specialised training to prepare them for the job market.
Graduates will earn a Bachelor's degree in Aeronautical Engineering/Commercial Aircraft Maintenance, and training certificates from Joramco Academy. These qualifications will enable them to obtain licenses from the Jordanian Civil Aviation Regulatory Commission (CARC) and the European Union Aviation Safety Agency (EASA), increasing their career opportunities—particularly at Joramco, which is committed to supporting young talent and addressing unemployment.
Both sides see this achievement as the result of extensive efforts and effective collaboration, emphasizing that this ambitious program will be a significant milestone and a leading model in the region.
Jordanian and international students interested in enrolling can apply through the Unified Admission portal once the registration is open. Applicants must have a General Secondary Education Certificate (Tawjihi) with a minimum score of 80% or an equivalent qualification.
