Strengthening Global Standing through International Rankings

The University of Jordan (UJ) has made significant strides in international rankings, reflecting its dedication to academic excellence, sustainability, and research impact. From advancing in the QS Sustainability Rankings to securing top positions in subject-specific global lists and entering the QS Global MBA Rankings, UJ continues to enhance its regional and international reputation, demonstrating leadership, innovation, and a commitment to high-quality education and governance.

QS Sustainability Rankings 2026

UJ achieved notable progress in the QS Sustainability Rankings 2026, securing first place nationally and 384th globally; moving up 39 positions from last year’s ranking of 423. This improvement reflects UJ's ongoing development in sustainability, governance, and social and environmental responsibility.

The ranking evaluates universities across three main categories, with UJ achieving the following results: 431st globally, 10th in the Arab region in Social Impact; 422nd globally, 9th in the Arab region in Environmental Impact; and 324th globally, 7th in the Arab region in Governance.

At the overall Arab regional level, UJ ranked 7th, moving up one position from last year, reflecting improved performance and strategies in sustainability, institutional planning, and resource management. These results underscore UJ's commitment to fostering a culture of sustainability, enhancing its social and environmental impact, and developing its governance system according to global best practices, thereby strengthening its regional and international standing.

ShanghaiRanking's Academic Ranking of World Universities 2025

UJ advanced in the Academic Ranking of World Universities 2025 (ShanghaiRanking), with six subjects listed among the world’s top-ranked disciplines. This represents a 50% increase in the number of ranked subjects compared to last year, positioning UJ as the leading Jordanian university both in the total number of listed subjects and in the number of subjects ranked first nationally.

Key results include: Top 201–300 worldwide in Nursing and Dentistry & Oral Sciences; top 301–400 worldwide in Mathematics and Telecommunication Engineering; and top 401–500 worldwide in Public Health and Education.

It also secured first place nationally in five of the six listed subjects, reflecting strong academic and research performance across its disciplines and continued progress in global excellence indicators.

Enters QS Global MBA Rankings 2026

UJ ranked first nationally and within the 251–300 band globally in the QS Global MBA Rankings 2026, one of the world’s most prestigious rankings for Master of Business Administration (MBA) programs. The ranking considers key indicators such as employability, return on investment, alumni outcomes, leadership, and diversity.

This marks the first time UJ has been included in this global list, which is regarded as one of the most influential benchmarks worldwide, alongside rankings from the Financial Times and The Economist.
