The recently released July 2018 edition of the Webometrics Ranking of World Universities has placed the University of Jordan (UJ) in the top 4% of universities worldwide among the 27,918 listed universities.
UJ continues to top Jordanian universities, and ranked 10th out of the 1138 Arab universities found in the Middle East. This rank has placed UJ in the top 3% of universities in Middle East.

Morever, UJ ranked 131 in the world and first in the Middle East and the Arab world in terms of the size of its website and the content it provides.

The Webometrics Ranking of World Universities is an initiative of the Cybermetrics Lab, a research group belonging to the Consejo Superior de Investigaciones Científicas (CSIC), the largest public research body in Spain.

The lab is devoted to the quantitative analysis of the Internet and Web contents especially those related to the processes of generation and scholarly communication of scientific knowledge.
