UJ Alumni Receives Doctoral Scholarship from Prestigious Law Academy

The University of Jordan (UJ) alumnus Wasef AL-Zboun was one of the receptionists of the 2018 Summer Doctoral Scholarship of The Hague Academy of International Law in Netherland.

The Scholarship is granted annually for the finest four PhD students living outside of the OECD countries.

The scholarship, which includes a two-month integrated program in the Netherlands, is granted to Law students enrolled in a doctoral programme.

AL-Zboun, who has been pursuing a doctoral degree in Public Law at UJ, is the only Arab and Jordanian student to receive this scholarship.

The distinguished student has been recently awarded a PhD with distinction after he has successfully defended his thesis.

AL-Zboun's thesis was on "The Legal Nature of Public-Private Partnership Contracts: A Comparative Study".

He studied the legal aspects of public-private partnership contracts in France, Egypt and Jordan.

AL-Zboun said the scholarship gave me the opportunity to meet with many international personalities including the President of the International Court of Justice and the only Arab judge in this Court, Dr. Nawaf Salam.

"I have been sent by the Academy to attend sessions of the International Court of Justice," he concluded.
